What it is
A free calculator for labels, managers and artists. No account, and nothing you type is sent to Aden.
Recoupment calculator
aden.space/tools/recoupment-calculator shows when an advance pays back.
- Inputs: the advance, recoupable costs, the artist royalty as a percentage of net receipts, net receipts per month or per quarter, and an optional growth per period (negative for a release that slows down). The currency applies to every amount.
- Monthly or quarterly: switching keeps the same deal. Receipts and growth are converted, so 2,500 a month becomes 7,500 a quarter.
- Answer: the month or quarter it recoups in, and what the artist is paid each period after that. With no advance or costs, the artist is paid from the start.
- Never recoups: when the royalty doesn't pay the balance back within 10 years, it says how much is still unrecouped and what to change.
- Chart: the unrecouped balance over time. Hover (or tap) to read any period.
- Period by period: a table of receipts, royalty, unrecouped balance and payout for every period, behind a toggle.
