Custom board columns and sub-boards

Add a tag or genre column between the statuses, or a sub-board under a status or another column. Dropping a track (or album) in one sets its status, tags and genres; each column chooses whether leaving it takes the value off. Shown on the tracks board, list, sidebar, status dropdown, desktop and mobile, and on the albums board and list.

What it is

The five statuses stay the backbone of the tracks board. Next to them you can add your own columns, made from a tag or a genre, such as "pitching" or "Afro House":

  • A column of its own sits between two statuses and shows every track with that tag or genre.
  • A sub-board sits under a status (or under another sub-board) and shows that status's tracks with the tag, so "Ready › Pitching" holds the ready tracks you are pitching.

A track in a column shows only there, and moving it out takes the tag off. The first time a track leaves a column, Aden asks whether it should: keep the tag for a label like "publishing" (the track then shows in the column and where it came from), remove it for a stage tracks move through, like "pitching". The answer sticks to the column; change it in the column's … menu.

Custom columns are outlined instead of filled, so they read as yours. Give each one its own icon and color.

Using it

  • Add a column: hover the left edge of a column title and click the +. Pick a tag or genre, or type a new tag, then its icon and color (the last swatch picks any color).
  • Add a sub-board: hover a column title and click the arrow button.
  • Move tracks: drag a card into a column. It gets that column's tag or genre (and its status, for a sub-board). Dragging it out, or changing its status, takes the tag off unless the column keeps it.
  • From a track: the status dropdown lists the sub-boards under their status and the columns between them.
  • Rename: click a column's name. Every track with that tag or genre is renamed with it.
  • Icon, color, remove: click a column's icon, or its … menu (which also holds Remove "…" when moved out). Settings › Statuses lists every column too.

The list view, the sidebar, the desktop app and the mobile app show the same columns in the same order.

The albums board and list have columns of their own, made from album tags and genres the same way. They are separate from the tracks board's columns.
