Calendar moments in the rail

The desktop rail puts what's coming in your calendar in reach, from 1 hour to 2 days ahead, each with a sparkle: calls to join, sessions, release and pre-save days' public pages, shows, deadlines, and the writers camp you're at today with its listening session, each opening just its page.

What it is

The desktop rail brings what's coming in your calendar into reach, under Links, each marked with a small sparkle so you know the app put it there:

  • A call to join: an Aden session with a call link, or a meeting from your connected Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar. Opens the call.
  • A studio session: its session page.
  • Release day: the track's or album's public page on Aden.
  • Pre-release day: the track's pre-save page.
  • A show: its own event page, else its tickets, else its page on Aden.
  • A deadline: the track or album it belongs to.
  • A writers camp you're at: one entry for the whole camp day, "Day 3 of 5". Running it, it opens the organisation's camp page and says how many people and rooms; attending, it opens your camp space and names your room today. The camp's studio sessions stay off the rail: the camp is the way in.
  • A listening session: at the hour the camp's plan says, it opens the camp's listening page. While it runs it comes first in the rail, marked.

Each one comes onto the rail ahead of time and stays until it's over. You choose how early: 1 hour, half a day or 2 days before, in Settings, General, Calendar on the rail (also asked during onboarding). A moment on another day says which: "Tomorrow · 14:00". Everything a moment says follows your language: the app's language on the desktop, your Aden language on the web.

Just the page

An Aden page opens on its own: no sidebar, header or player, floating over what you're doing. Drag it beside the page, or out of the window, like any floating window. Public pages (a release, a show) open as the public sees them. Calls open as a page in the app window, tickets in your browser.

Snooze and dismiss

Right-click one: Snooze 1 hour, Snooze until tomorrow (back at nine), Snooze until… (a time you pick) or Dismiss (gone until its day has passed). Copy link is there too, and Show calendar from changes the lead time (same choice as Settings, General).

In ⌘K

⌘K lists everything coming up in the next two weeks under Coming up, on the web and in the desktop app, whatever the rail shows: type a name, what it is ("session", "release", "tickets") or a day ("friday", "tomorrow").

Open a row's menu (its "…") to step into it: the people on it (the track's or album's collaborators, the session's participants, the show's crew and contacts). Pick someone to open your chat with them, or write them an email when they're not on Aden. In the desktop app the menu also lists your email threads with them and your chats with them, WhatsApp and Instagram included.

Your email is in the desktop's ⌘K too: type a sender or words from a subject to open the thread.

Calls

A call opens as a page of its own in Links (one per service, like Google Meet or Zoom), so you sign in there once and later calls join straight away. Without signing in, Meet still lets you ask to join as a guest.

They follow the workspace in the switcher: a team shows its own, and Personal shows every team you're in, plus your own calendars.
