Chats from other apps on your phone

What it is

The chats you read in Aden desktop's Links (Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and the rest, through Beeper) also show in the mobile Chat tab, mixed in with your Aden chats by their latest message.

How it works

• One row per person. Someone on several apps is one row, the same way Links merges them on your Mac, including people you tied together by hand.
• Open a person to read and reply. When they're on several apps, a tab per app switches between them.
• Long press a message to react. Tap a reaction to add or take back yours.
• Send photos, videos and files with the + next to the reply box. Hold the microphone to record a voice note; it arrives as a voice note in the app.
• Start a chat from the compose button: pick the app, find the person and, if you want, write the first message.
• Photos show in the chat. Videos, voice notes and files are named, and play on your Mac.
• Your Mac does the work: Aden has to be open on it, signed in, with Beeper connected. When it's off, the list says so and the chats come back once it's on.

Turning it off

On your Mac, open the Inbox settings in Links and turn off Chats on your phone, or search "chats on your phone" with ⌘K.
