Drop from your phone to your computer
Hold a photo, video or file in the phone app and slide it off the side of the screen; it comes in from that side on your computer and lands on the drop shelf.
What it is
Send a photo, video or file from your phone to your computer by sliding it off the side of the phone's screen, toward where your computer is. It comes in from that side on your computer's screen and lands on the drop shelf, saved in Downloads.
Using it
- On your phone, open Drop to your computer from your profile, or search "drop" or "send". Your newest photos and videos are listed; the + button adds any photo or file.
- Hold one until it lifts, then slide it off the side of the screen your computer is on. Phone on the right of your laptop: slide it left.
- On your computer it comes in from that side, at the height it left your phone, waits there while it uploads, then flies into the drop shelf. From there, drag it anywhere, or upload it to a track.
- A check on the photo means it arrived. Each file is saved in Downloads, never over a file that is already there.
- Your computer only has to be on with Aden open, signed in to the same account. It can be locked.
Turning it off
On your computer, search "phone access" with ⌘K, or turn off Phone access in the Inbox settings in Links. That also stops your phone from playing audio on your computer and reaching chats from other apps.
MIDI editor and sounds
Draw MIDI, type chords or drop a .mid and hear it on piano, electric piano, guitar, muted guitar, synth, pad, organ or a sampler made from your own sample folder (a Kontakt library's WAVs, an SFZ, one-shots). One editor everywhere MIDI shows up, comments, take melodies, project lanes, and a free page at aden.space/midi that the MCP opens in the chat.
