Linked tracks
Connect a track to the original it remixes, covers, edits or samples (and see the remixes of your own tracks), with an approval handshake between the two teams, split metadata, a "Remix of …" credit on the track's Linked tracks tab, and per-link document storage for remix/cover contracts.
What it is
A remix, cover or edit doesn't exist on its own. It's derived from an original. Linked tracks let you record that relationship: connect your track to the original it's based on, and connect the remixes and covers other people make of your tracks back to you.
Once a track is linked to an original, a short "Remix of …" (or "Cover of …", "Edit of …") credit appears on the track's Linked tracks tab, so months later you can still see at a glance what a track is derived from, and click straight through to the original. When the original is also on Aden, the team gets an approval request, and an approved link can carry split metadata and any contracts that govern the relationship.
Using it
- Open the track's Linked tracks tab. Go to Collaborators → Linked tracks on the track. If you've tagged the track "remix" (or "cover", "edit", "bootleg", "flip", "mashup", …), a subtle "Add the original" prompt appears here.
- Link the original. On the Linked tracks tab, choose Link track and paste the original's Spotify link, type its ISRC, or search by name. Pick the relationship type (Remix, Cover, Edit, Alternate version, Sample, Mashup source) and optionally the split going back to the original. If the original is on Aden, its team is notified to approve.
- See the credit. Once linked, the "Remix of [Artist]" line shows on the Linked tracks tab. The original artist's team sees the request appear under their track's Linked tracks as a remix/cover of theirs to approve or reject.
- Attach contracts & documents. Each link has its own Documents area
upload the remix/cover contract or any supporting file. Those files are filed
against the link and also show up in the track's Files tab under a
linked_tracksfolder, so they're easy to find again later.
Track collaborators
Add people and whole teams to a track's credits from the "Add collaborator" panel. One search over teams, people, @slugs and emails feeds one list where teams are groups (with ft. and public credit inline) and songwriters credited under their own name sit below. A team is the default answer for anyone new, because only a team carries an artist name, and a team can be one person. Rows carry per-person splits, roles, IPI and access. An emailed songwriter can accept as themselves, join with a team they admin, or create a team first and come back. The same reusable panel powers albums, camps and session invites.
Board & list grouping
The tracks board groups by a field you choose (status, tags, genre, label, visibility or priority), and the list view nests a second layer under status using the same fields. Column choice lives in Display settings as one-click chips plus a searchable picker; status shows on each card; dragging a card between columns rewrites that field on the track. A trailing no-value column collects untagged tracks and strips the value on drop.
