Chats linked to sessions, tracks and more

What it is

A chat can be about one thing in Aden: a studio session, a track, a milestone, a release or a show. Link it, and the chat works on that thing with you. Its card is pinned at the top, and what people write can land there in one click.

How it works

• Link a chat. Use the target button in the chat's header (or ⌘K, "Link this chat…"), pick the kind and search. You link it yourself: Aden doesn't guess from who's in the chat. Everyone in the chat sees a note, and the same button unlinks it.
• The pinned card shows what it is, when, who's coming (sessions), and the open to-dos to tick off. "Open" goes to it in Aden. A session also has "Canvas" (its ideas board) and "Share", which puts its follow-along link in your message for people who aren't on Aden.
• Messages become work. A message's sparkle menu, and the chip above the composer for the newest message, offer what fits:
  • a list ("can you fix the vocal, bounce stems and send the split?", or bullet lines) becomes to-dos, after you untick any you don't want
  • on a track, a message becomes a comment, at the point in the song it names ("the kick at 1:32")
  • on a session, "can we do Saturday 2pm?" moves it, links go on its inspiration board, lyrics and ideas go in its notes, and voice notes go into the session
• Start a session from a group chat. "Start a session" takes the chat's name, the day someone proposed, and lets you pick who from the chat to invite. The chat is linked to it right away. A message proposing a day in an unlinked chat offers the same.
• On the desktop app this works in every Links chat, WhatsApp and Instagram groups included: files sent there can go into the session too.
