Plans, payments & affiliates
Subscription gating, Polar-powered billing (incl. discount/coupon tracking shown across team, org & admin surfaces), plan enforcement via Edge Config and rate limits, and an admin-curated affiliate product catalogue.
What it is
Aden is free to start. As your team grows you can unlock more storage, collaborators, features, and platform integrations by subscribing to a paid plan. Billing is handled by Polar — a creator-first payment platform — so you always manage your subscription directly from your team settings, and invoices land in your inbox automatically.
There are five plan tiers: Free → Air → Pro → Ultra → Max. Each tier is a superset of the one below it; upgrading gives you everything the lower tiers had, plus more. Organisations can also subscribe separately so a management company can unlock org-level features independently of the teams they manage.
From Ultra upward you also get Aden Fast — the sidebar prefetches the pages and content behind every nav link the moment you hover, so moving around your workspace feels instant. It turns on automatically once any of your teams is on Ultra or higher; there's nothing to configure.
The affiliate catalogue is a curated list of gear, plugins, and services that the Aden team has hand-picked. It lives on the public marketing site and is maintained by Aden admins — it is not a marketplace where any user can list products.
Using it
Choosing and starting a plan
- From your team sidebar, go to Plan (or click Upgrade from any paywall prompt).
- Compare the tiers on the upgrade page. Monthly or yearly billing — yearly saves one month.
- Click Choose plan on the tier you want. You will be sent to Polar's checkout; complete payment there.
- Once payment succeeds Polar fires a webhook back to Aden, your subscription activates immediately, and all locked features unlock.
Managing your subscription
Inside Plan you can:
- See your current plan and usage (storage, seats, uploads this month).
- Switch add-ons on or off (e.g. the shop or the 3D world, if your tier supports them).
- View subscription history — every billing cycle is listed with its status.
- Cancel a duplicate active subscription if you accidentally subscribed twice (the action refuses to cancel the newest one; contact support if you need that).
Cancelling
Cancel through Polar directly (link available in your billing emails or Polar dashboard). Aden receives the cancellation webhook and immediately revokes access to paid features at the end of the billing period.
Plans arranged directly with Aden (invoice billing)
Some teams — especially those managed by an organisation, or on an enterprise arrangement — are put on a paid plan directly by the Aden team rather than through Polar self-checkout. When that happens you'll get an email confirming the upgrade: what's new on your new plan, the invoice details (amount, billing period, who pays, and a reference number), and a link to your subscription page.
All of that is also shown on your team's Plan page under Billing details, so you can check your plan, amount, renewal/expiry date and invoice reference any time — even though there's no Polar billing portal for these. For any billing question on an invoice-billed plan, just reply to the email or contact support@aden.space.
Billing entities & bank reconciliation
Manage the legal entities you invoice, the bank accounts you receive payments on, and attach financial statements to tracks.
Legal, IP & compliance documents
Versioned platform legal documents (terms of service, privacy policy, letter of intent), EUIPO trademark search, and identity document (KYC) submission — covering both Aden's own legal compliance and tools artists use to protect their IP.
