Trigger actions with zones in the room

Draw zones on your webcam's picture and hold a hand in one to switch a scene, play music or send MIDI. No paper needed.

Camera zones turn spots in your room into buttons. Draw a box on your webcam's picture, a corner beside your mic or the space above your desk, and hold a hand in it. Aden does what that zone is set to do, in any app. Handy while you stream, perform or record away from the keyboard. The picture never leaves your computer.

Set up a zone

  1. Press ⌘K and search Camera zones. The camera comes on.
  2. Drag on the picture to draw a zone, or choose Add zone.
  3. Choose what it does: a shortcut (an OBS scene, say), play or skip music, the volume, a link, an app or a MIDI note.
  4. Choose Start.

You can have up to 12 zones. Click a zone to rename it, change what it does or delete it.

Use a zone

Hold your hand in a zone for half a second. It fills along its bottom, then fires and lights up. Take your hand out to use it again. A hand passing through never fires it.

Move a zone

Drag a zone to move it, or drag its corner to resize it. With a zone selected, the arrow keys move it, and Alt with the arrow keys resizes it. If you move your camera, drag your zones back over the spots you use.

Send MIDI

MIDI zones send to the output you pick under the settings button. On a Mac, turn on the IAC Driver in Audio MIDI Setup and pick its bus. A note plays while your hand is in the zone.

Allow shortcuts on a Mac

Shortcut and media zones need Aden under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. The window asks with Allow.
