Play piano on your desk
No piano needed: your camera draws the keys on your desk, and tapping a finger plays the key under it.
The Air piano turns your desk into a piano through your camera. Free, no account needed.
Set it up
- Open the Air piano and turn on the camera.
- The guided setup opens the first time. Check the camera sees a hand.
- Show where the keys go, with the back edge nearest your screen.
- Rest your fingers on the desk, then tap a few lit keys so the taps fit how you play.
Open the setup again any time with Set up the desk keys in the bar.
Play
- Rest your fingers on the desk.
- Lift a finger and tap down to play the key under it. Harder is louder.
- Keep the finger down to hold the note.
Each fingertip lights the key under it. If the camera can't see well, a short hint tells you what to fix.
Use a paper keyboard
Want real keys to aim at? Press Print a paper keyboard for two octaves at near real size, on Letter or A4 in landscape. The setup fits the keys to it.
Without a camera
With the camera off, play the keys by tapping or clicking, or with your computer's home row (A is middle C).
Sound and octave
Pick the sound in the bar, from the Piano coach's pianos to your own samplers, and change octave with Lower octave and Higher octave. How to play sums it all up.
The camera picture never leaves your browser.
