Share remixes on your profile

Put remixes of other people's songs on your profile so fans can find them, hear them and grab a free download.

A remix of someone else's song usually can't go to stores, and you often can't hand out the file yourself. Here's the middle path: the remix lives on your profile as a track, and fans hear it from where it's already hosted, like SoundCloud or Dropbox.

Set up a remix

  1. Add the remix as a track and give it a tag, like remix. Tags become filters on your public tracks page.
  2. In the track's settings, open Original Track and fill in the original's title and artist, so a "Remix of" credit shows.
  3. Paste a Listen link: a SoundCloud track, a Dropbox or Google Drive share link, or a direct audio link.
  4. To give it away, add a free download as usual. You can point it at SoundCloud, Hypeddit or Dropbox so the file never comes from your profile, and keep the email or follow gate.

What fans see

  • Your tracks page: a tag filter to show only your remixes, with a "Remix of" line on each card.
  • The remix's page: the original it's based on, a Listen to the remix player and any free download. SoundCloud links show the SoundCloud player; other links play in a small audio player.
Showing the listen player on your public profile needs Pro or higher. The link saves on any plan, and everything else fans see works for everyone.

Planning a release for a remix? An unofficial release plan is built for exactly this: see Create a release plan.
