Create a release plan

Answer a short questionnaire, or pick a template, and get a dated launch plan for your track.

Create a plan

  1. Open the track and go to Release plans, then press New plan. A finished track without a plan also shows Plan the release in its sidebar.
  2. The questionnaire opens already filled from what Aden knows: genre and tags, your connected platforms, lyrics, footage in your media and answers from your last plan. It only asks what it couldn't find. Everything it filled in waits under Filled in for you, each with a note saying where it came from.
  3. Change anything you like, then press Create plan.

The plan opens with milestones, tasks and draft posts, all editable. Dates are squeezed into the time left before your release, so a plan made two weeks out spreads its work over those two weeks. Draft posts also appear in your Posts, ready to review and schedule.

If your act has an identity filled in, the drafts use its tagline, sound and visual notes.

Set a goal

The first question is the plan's goal, the result the release is for, like "+1K followers by release" or "10K streams in the first 4 weeks". It suggests one from your team's goals. Pick a preset or type your own.

The goal shows on your Goals page and on the plan. Posting goals count themselves; for followers, streams, pre-saves and playlist adds, use Log progress. What it takes beside the plan works the goal back into the impressions and clicks it needs.

Official or unofficial

The Release question decides the kind of plan:

  • Official: it goes out through a distributor to every store. The plan keeps pre-save, distributor and editorial pitching tasks.
  • Unofficial: a remix, edit or bootleg that can't be distributed. The plan is built around SoundCloud, a free download and repost channels, and drops Spotify and Apple Music.

Your own song, or a track with an ISRC, a distributor or a store link, is treated as official. Unofficial plans wear an Unofficial badge.

Start from a template

Press Templates in the questionnaire's header. You see plans other artists published, then Aden's own. Pick one to preview its milestones on your dates, then press Use for this track.

To publish one of your plans as a template, open it and turn on Publish as template in the "…" menu. Others see your team name, milestone and task titles, relative dates and budgets, never your track, notes, links or people.
