Work through a release plan

Tick off milestones and tasks with your team, share the plan with outside contacts and look back once it's out.

Move the plan along

A new plan starts as a draft. Set it to active while you work it, completed when the launch is done, or archived to shelve it.

Milestones and tasks

Milestones group the tasks for a release. Each card shows its status, title, due date and tasks; open one to add a due date, budget, assignees, points or a description.

  • Tick tasks off as you finish them. Progress shows across the team.
  • Type @ in a task to mention anyone who can work on the track: its collaborators, your team and your organisation's members.
  • A task can link to where it gets done, in Aden or on another site. Add one from the task's link icon.
  • Some tasks tick themselves: making a campaign or a post for the track, or submitting it to a label, closes the matching task. Their checkbox is dashed until then.

Each promotion milestone works on one pillar: awareness (getting heard), conversion (getting the click) or fans (keeping listeners). Change it from the chip beside the due date.

See what's next

The track's sidebar ends with Up next: the plan's progress, its next three open tasks and a button for the next linked one. A track marked ready with no plan shows Plan the release there instead.

Share the plan

Send a label or manager a read only link to the plan. They see the milestones and their status without an Aden account.

Export the plan

To send the plan to a label, a manager or a partner as a file, open the plan's … menu and choose Export:

  • PDF: the milestones by date with their tasks, deadlines and budgets, ready to attach to an email.
  • CSV or Excel: one row per task, to open in a spreadsheet.

You can also press ⌘K on the plan and type "export".

Delete a plan

Delete it from the plans list or the plan's header. If it has milestones and tasks, choose whether to remove them too with Also delete all linked data, or keep them on the track.

Look back after the release

Once the track is out, leave a release retrospective: a rating out of five, what went well, what didn't, and what to do differently. The whole team can read it. One click saves the lessons as a team skill, so the assistant uses them the next time it drafts a plan.
