Install and sign in to the desktop app

Sign in with the browser you already use, create an account if you need one, and set Aden up the way you work.

Download Aden for Mac, Windows or Linux from the download page on aden.space, open it, and sign in.

  1. On the sign-in screen, choose Sign in with your browser.
  2. Your browser opens aden.space, where you are usually signed in already. If not, sign in there first.
  3. Press Continue to the app. You land back in the app, signed in.

This works with any way you sign in on the web, passkeys included. With two-factor on, the browser asks for your code, and the app never asks again.

You can also pick Apple, Google, Discord, Spotify or Kakao. It opens in your browser (Apple opens in a window over the app on a Mac). If you signed up with one of these and never set a password, this is your way in. Email and password still work below.

No account yet

  1. Under the sign-in form, choose Sign up.
  2. Sign up as usual in the window that opens, including the email check and setup.
  3. At the end, choose to continue in the app. You are signed in.

Use my browser runs the same signup in your default browser, handy when your password manager lives there.

Finish setup

The tour on first launch offers two things. Both stay in Settings → General if you skip them.

  • Keep Aden in the Dock. On a Mac the button does it. On Windows, right-click Aden in the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar.
  • Open audio files with Aden, so a double-clicked track plays here. On Windows the button opens Default apps, where you pick Aden. On a Mac, right-click an audio file in Finder, choose Get Info, set Open with to Aden, then Change All.

Allow Aden on a Mac

Some features read or press keys in other apps: creating from selected text, spotting an unsaved project, remote control in a call, hand control. macOS asks you to allow these under Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Press Allow in Aden, then drag the Aden tile into the list.
