Run commands with a hand sign
Record, undo, save, mute and play from the mic, with a sign to your camera.
Hands-free commands let you stay at the mic and still run the session. Hold a sign up to your camera and Aden records, undoes, saves, mutes you or plays. The picture never leaves your computer.
Turn it on
- Search "hands-free" in โK and choose Hands-free commands.
- Or open Settings โ Hands-free and switch on Hands-free commands.
The camera preview opens in a corner. It works on its own, or beside hand control: the wand button in the preview turns it on and off.
The signs
Hold a sign still until the ring in the preview fills. The preview then shows what ran.
- Rock sign: record or stop
- Fist: play or pause
- Peace sign: save
- Thumbs down: mute or unmute in a call
- Index up: show every sign
- Swipe left or swipe right: undo or redo
To swipe, first raise an open palm with your fingers up and hold it for a moment, then sweep your hand to the side.
Where each command goes
- Undo, redo and save press the usual shortcuts in the app in front.
- Record and play press your DAW's own keys. In a call, record starts or stops the call's recording.
- Mute mutes you in a call.
On a Mac, press Allow when the preview asks, and add Aden under Accessibility, so commands reach other apps.
Make it yours
In Settings โ Hands-free:
- Pick a sign for each command under Signs.
- Choose how long to hold under Hold for. Longer is harder to set off while you talk.
- Switch on Wake with an open palm first if you talk with your hands.
- Under In a DAW, pick your DAW and record the keys for Record and Play or pause.
- Press Test to see what the camera reads.
In a call in your browser
Open Account โ Shortcuts and switch on Hands-free commands. It reads your camera in calls while your camera is on, and while you record.
Turn it off
Press Stop in the preview, switch it off in Settings, or choose "Stop hands-free commands" in โK. The camera turns off with it.
