Make files smaller
Shrink a video to send or post, compress photos and cover art, or turn a WAV into an MP3, in your browser.
The File compressor makes videos, pictures and songs smaller. Free, no account needed, and your files never leave your computer.
Compress files
- Open the File compressor.
- Drop your files on the page, or press Choose files.
- Pick how small:
- Smallest: videos at 720p, pictures up to 1600 pixels on their longest side, songs as 128 kbps MP3s.
- Balanced: videos up to 1080p, pictures up to 2560 pixels on their longest side, songs as 192 kbps MP3s.
- Best quality: videos and pictures keep their size, songs become 256 kbps MP3s.
- Each row shows the size before and after, and how much smaller it got.
- Press the download button on a row, or Download all to get every file in one zip.
Videos come out as MP4, songs as MP3, and pictures keep their format.
When a file can't get any smaller, the compressor keeps the original and tells you. For a much smaller PNG, convert it to WebP in the File converter.
