Write editorial pitches

Let Aden draft the pitches streaming editors read, for Spotify, Apple Music and more, and copy each one where it goes.

Streaming services pick songs for their editorial playlists from short pitches. Aden drafts them from what it knows about the song and keeps every pitch on the track.

Write a pitch

  1. Open the track, go to Metadata and click Write pitch (or Pitches).
  2. Pick the platform: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer or Tidal.
  3. Open Notes for Aden: why the song matters now, your plans for it, where your fans are, past highlights.
  4. Click Write with Aden and pick one of the two drafts, or write your own. On another platform, Adapt with Aden rewrites your newest pitch for it.
  5. Edit it until it sounds like you. Switching platforms saves it.

What makes a pitch land

  • Say how it sounds. Genre, mood, instruments and tempo, so an editor can place it.
  • Tell the story in one detail. Who made it, where you're from or based. Editors look for regional sounds.
  • Share your plan. Release dates, video, press, shows. Apple Music's editors say this matters more than a bio.
  • Say who it's for. The kind of playlist or listener it suits.
  • Skip the hype. No "banger", no links, no numbers without context.
  • Fill in every tag in Spotify for Artists: genres, moods, instruments, your location.

Send it in time

  • Spotify: at least two weeks before release, and 7 days at the latest to reach Release Radar. Click Copy and open Spotify for Artists and paste it under Upcoming.
  • Apple Music and Deezer: through your distributor, 10 and 7 days before release at the latest. Distributors usually want it weeks earlier.
  • Amazon Music: in Amazon Music for Artists, up to 14 days after release.

Your release plan has a task for each, and it ticks itself off when you copy that platform's pitch.

Albums

Open the album's Metadata, click Pitches and pick the song. Pitches are saved on that song.

Mark one placed

When a playlist picks the song up, open the pitch and click the check next to it. The button then shows Placed.
