The File converter changes audio, pictures and videos into another format. Free, no account needed, and your files never leave your computer.
Convert files
- Open the File converter.
- Drop your files on the page, or press Choose files. You can drop many at once, and mix songs, pictures and videos.
- Pick a format for each kind of file:
- Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG.
- Images: PNG, JPG or WebP.
- Video: MP4, WebM or MOV, or MP3, WAV or M4A to keep only the sound. A format your browser can't make is greyed out, with the reason.
- Each file converts as soon as it's in. Its row shows the new format and size.
- Press the download button on a row, or Download all to get every file in one zip. You can also drag a file from its download button into your DAW.
Change the quality
Press the sliders button at the top of the panel:
- JPG and WebP quality: lower makes smaller pictures.
- MP3, M4A and OGG bitrate: 320 kbps sounds best, 128 kbps makes the smallest files.
- WAV and FLAC bit depth: 24-bit for mixing and mastering, 16-bit for CDs or when a distributor asks.
Turning an MP3 into a WAV makes the file bigger, not better. Use your original bounce from the DAW when you have it.
Go straight to a conversion
