DAW project previews
Reads a synced FL Studio (.flp) or Ableton Live (.als) project file and shows what is inside it, tempo, key, meter, song length, the channel/track list with its devices, every plugin and every referenced sample, without anyone opening the DAW.
What it is
A synced project used to be a name, a file count and a size. Now Aden reads the project file itself and shows you what is in it. Before you download anything, and without opening FL Studio or Live.
For a project that contains an .flp or an .als, expanding it on the
Project files page shows:
- Tempo, key and meter: the BPM the project is saved at, the scale Live is set to, and the time signature.
- Length: how long the arrangement runs, in minutes and in bars.
- The track list: every channel (FL Studio) or track (Live), with its colour, whether it is muted or frozen, and the devices on it in chain order.
- Plugins: everything the project loads, third-party plugins separated from stock devices, with a count per plugin. Useful for "can I even open this?" before you pull a collaborator's session.
- Samples: every audio file the project references, by name and full path.
- Notes, clips, patterns and markers: how much is actually written, the pitch range the MIDI covers, and the arrangement markers by name.
The tempo, key and track count also show on the collapsed project card, so a track's project list reads at a glance.
Using it
- Upload a project from the browser and Aden reads it as soon as the upload finishes, no extra step.
- For a project the desktop app pushed, or one uploaded before this existed, expand it and click Read project data.
- Click Re-read after pushing a new version to refresh the preview.
What it cannot do
- Only FL Studio (
.flp) and Ableton Live (.als) projects can be read. Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper and Bitwig projects still show the plain file list. - The preview is a snapshot from the moment it was read. Pushing new versions does not re-read it automatically. Use Re-read.
- Project files over 64 MB are skipped; that size almost always means audio was embedded in the project, and downloading it to read a header is not worth it.
- FL Studio does not store a key signature, so
Keystays empty for.flpprojects.
Mono compatibility check
Phase analysis per track version: what the mix loses when a club, phone or radio chain sums it to mono.
Clips & moodboards
Save visual and audio inspiration to a track's moodboard. Clip an image straight from any web page with the Aden browser extension, or add a reference URL or uploaded file from the track's inspiration tab. Everything lands in one inspiration panel per track.
