Make your own effect
Ask Claude, Claude Code or Codex for an effect in plain words and hear every change in your DAW.
Describe an effect in words and hear it on your track a minute later. The Aden plugin runs effects you make with Claude Code or Codex, so there's nothing to compile, sign or install.
Ask Claude for one
The easiest way: Claude makes the whole patch, sound and look, on your computer.
- Open Aden Desktop and go to MCP DAW. Choose Claude, then Add Aden to Claude.
- Quit Claude and open it again.
- Ask Claude in plain words: "Make me an Aden patch: a tape saturator with a wobble knob and a VU meter."
- In your DAW, open the Aden plugin, press ⌘K and choose Open your own effect. Your patch is under Your patches: choose Open.
Keep talking to Claude while the DAW plays. Every change it makes plays a moment later.
Start a patch yourself
- Put Aden on a track in your DAW and open it.
- Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) and choose Open your own effect.
- Choose New patch, then pick where its folder goes.
Give it a sound
- Open the new folder in Claude Code or Codex. Show folder finds it for you.
- Describe the effect you want: "a tape saturator with a wobble knob", or "a ping-pong echo that ducks while I sing".
- When it builds the patch, the plugin starts playing it. Every new build replaces the last one while your DAW plays, and the knobs stay where they were.
The patch's knobs show up in the plugin, and your DAW lists them by name, so you can automate them. Ask for a look of its own too: a patch can have its own page of knobs and meters.
When something goes wrong
If a new build doesn't load, the last one keeps playing and the plugin says why in one line. If the patch stops while playing, your track plays as if the effect were off. Paste that line into Claude Code or Codex and ask it to fix it.
Open a patch someone shared
- In the plugin, press ⌘K and choose Open your own effect.
- Choose Open a folder and pick the patch's folder.
