Create a track

Drop an audio file, give it a title, and get a track page with its first version.

Creating a track takes a title and, if you have one, an audio file. You can fill in everything else later.

Create one

  1. Open your team's tracks and click New track.
  2. Drop an audio file on the audio box, or click it to pick one. You can also paste a link underneath (see Create a track from a link).
  3. Check the title. Aden fills it from the file name.
  4. Set the status, visibility and priority with the chips under the audio box if you want to.
  5. Click Create track.

You don't wait for the upload. The track opens on its versions page right away, and the file keeps uploading in the background. It plays as soon as there is something to play.

With no team active, the form asks which team the track belongs to. If you're on one team only, it's picked for you.

Let the file name do the work

You don't have to clean up file names first. Words like "v2", "WIP", "WORKTITLE", "final" or "mastered" are taken out of the title, and the status is set from them. "My Song WORKTITLE.wav" lands as In progress. A note tells you what was set, and you can change it.

Typed "[NEW]" or "[P1]" into the title? A line under the field offers to turn it into the status or priority instead.

More ways in

  • Record: in the ⋯ beside the audio box, record from your microphone, a browser tab, or both.
  • From a cloud: in the same menu, pick a file from Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
  • Several files: each file becomes its own track, and the form offers to group them into an album. Or choose to make them one track with several versions.
  • Drop anywhere: drop a new mix anywhere in the app. If the name matches a track you already have, Aden offers Add version to put it there.

Fill in more now

All fields opens the rest of the form: cover, collaborators, playlists, albums and metadata. The same sections are on the track page, so nothing is lost if you skip them.
