Link a remix to its original

Connect remixes, covers and edits to the song they come from, and pin reference tracks.

A remix or cover comes from an original. Link the two and anyone can see where a track comes from, and the original's team can approve it.

While you create the track

When the title reads as a remix, cover, edit, bootleg or flip ("Under The Table (Lucch Remix)"), an Original track row appears under the title, already filled in. Add reference track searches your tracks and Spotify, and picking a result links it.

  1. Open the track and go to Collaborators, then Linked tracks. A track tagged remix or cover shows a prompt to add the original.
  2. Choose Link track.
  3. Paste the original's Spotify link, type its ISRC, or search by name.
  4. Pick what it is: remix, cover, edit, alternate version, sample or mashup source. Add the split that goes back to the original if there is one.

If the original is on Aden, its team gets a request to approve or reject. Once linked, a line such as "Remix of [Artist]" shows on the tab.

Each link has its own documents area for the remix or cover contract. Those files also show in the track's Files.

Pin reference tracks

References are songs that give context: "this is the vibe we're going for".

  1. Open the track's Metadata page and go to References.
  2. Press Add reference track.
  3. Type a song name, an ISRC, or paste a link from Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Mixcloud or Dropbox.

A Spotify result keeps its real title, artist, ISRC and artwork. Remove a reference with the trash icon. References work both ways, so a track shows what it references and what references it.

Copy the original's lyrics

When the original is a track on Aden and a version has no lyrics yet, the version's … menu offers Copy lyrics from original.
