Inspiration moodboards

Every track, album, session and team content library has an Inspiration moodboard. Paste reference links or images, browse them in grid/masonry/canvas, and (on tracks) arrange everything on a real freeform Excalidraw board.

What it is

Every track (and album, session, and team content library) has an Inspiration tab. A moodboard where you collect the references behind the work: pins, screenshots, reels, colour ideas, logo directions. Paste a link or an image and it lands on the board.

Using it

Add inspiration. Click Add inspiration and paste any link, a Pinterest pin, a TikTok/YouTube video, an image URL, or any page that inspired you, with an optional note. On Ultra and above you can also upload an image directly. Pasted links resolve their preview image and title automatically.

Browse it your way. A display toggle switches between Grid, Masonry, and Canvas.

Saved posts live in the same board. Post-inspiration references (TikToks, reels, videos, and trends saved against the track/album) show up as cards in the same Grid/Masonry view, marked with a Post badge and linking out to the posts board. There are no separate "Art" / "Posts" sub-tabs. It's one merged Inspiration surface with one Add inspiration dialog. Saved posts appear only for teams whose plan unlocks the posts feature; the Canvas view stays image-only.

Canvas: a real freeform board. On a track's, album's, or team's Inspiration tab, Canvas is a full freeform moodboard powered by the same drawing engine as the studio session ideas canvas. On it you can:

  • Paste images straight from your clipboard: copy anything (a screenshot, an image from a website) and press ⌘/Ctrl + V to drop it onto the board.
  • Add your team colours and graphics: draw rectangles and set them to your brand hex codes to build a palette, drop in logos, and drag everything into place.
  • Add text and section labels: annotate the board ("blurry nature pics", "profile", "logo") just like a real moodboard.
  • Arrange freely: move, resize, rotate, and layer anything.
  • Pull in what you already saved: Add saved images imports the images already on your grid moodboard onto the board in one click.

The board autosaves as you work and syncs live between teammates. You'll see how many people are on the board, and their changes appear as they make them.

Good to know

  • Grid and masonry stay simple galleries of everything you've pasted or uploaded; the freeform Canvas is a separate layer that lives on top and never changes your saved items.
  • Importing already-saved images onto the Canvas is best-effort: some sources (Pinterest and other sites) block cross-origin loading, so those are skipped. Paste them onto the board instead.
