Downloads
Publish gated or paid files to fans through a public landing page your team controls. Decide whether the download is free or paid, whether you collect an email, name, or social follows in exchange, and when the link goes live, for a single track or as a standalone team product. A track download can also be offered as a pre-save reward that unlocks the instant a fan pre-saves.
What it is
Downloads let you share files with your fans through a public page your team controls. You decide whether the download is free or paid, whether you want an email address or social follows in exchange, and when the link goes live. Fans visit the page, fill in the form you set up, and receive the file link.
A download can be attached to a single track, or stand alone as a team product that lives on your public profile.
Using it
Setting up a track download (for team members)
- Open a track and go to the Downloads tab.
- Toggle Enable download on.
- Paste the download URL(s), set an optional password, and choose a date range if you want the link to be time-limited.
- If you want fans to follow you on socials before downloading, enable Require social follows and add your profile URLs.
- To turn a pre-save link into a reward, toggle Offer as a pre-save reward. The download you configured here (external links and/or the track version) then unlocks automatically on the track's pre-save page the moment a fan pre-saves, no separate form, no extra steps for the fan.
- Save. The public download page for this track is now live.
Rewarding pre-savers with a free download
Pre-save links used to dead-end on a thank-you message. With Offer as a pre-save reward enabled, a fan who pre-saves a track (by email or by connecting Spotify) sees a "Reward unlocked" panel appear right on the pre-save page with the free download you set up. It's the same download you'd configure for the track's download page. You're just choosing to hand it out in exchange for the pre-save.
Creating a standalone team download (for team members)
- In your team sidebar open Downloads and click Create download.
- Give it a title and description, paste the file URL(s), and configure access rules (email required, lifetime fan required, contact group, date window, password).
- For a paid download, toggle Paid and enter a price in USD. Your team must have a Polar integration set up first.
- Publish. Fans find the page under your public profile at
/@<team>/downloads/<id>.
Downloading a file (for fans)
- Visit the public download page (shared link or your artist's profile).
- Fill in the form. Name, email, or social follows as required.
- Click Download. The file link appears immediately.
Importing your gates from Hypeddit (for team members)
If you already run remix download gates on Hypeddit, Droploud, or ToneDen, you don't have to rebuild them one by one. On your team Downloads page click Import from Hypeddit, paste your gate links (one per line, up to 25 at a time), and click Fetch details. Aden opens each public gate page and pre-fills the remix title, description, and any artist follow links it can read (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook).
You then review the drafts: fix any title, paste your file link for each gate (the file behind a Hypeddit gate can't be read automatically, so point it at your Dropbox / Google Drive / WeTransfer URL), and decide whether to collect emails and show the follow links. Pick an existing contact group or create a new one so the fans who unlock these downloads on Aden land somewhere, then Import. Every gate becomes a live Aden download page. If a gate can't be read, its row still appears empty for you to fill in, or use Add details manually to build gates from scratch.
Reaching more listeners with public download pools
Your download page only reaches fans who already found you. When you set up a free download, Aden shows a Boost your free download card with public download pools and gates. Hypeddit, DJ record pools like DJcity and BPM Supreme, and more, where you can also submit your track. DJs and curators browse these pools daily for new music to play and repost, so submitting there puts your free download in front of people who would never land on your profile. Each entry links straight to the pool's submission page.
Sharing your download stats
Every download in your team's Downloads list has a Share stats button that opens a story-format stats card. Your artist name, the download's title, and its live download count. Ready for Instagram or anywhere else. Save the image, copy the public gate link, or share it straight from the dialog. The card is generated fresh each time, so it always shows the current count.
The dialog also has a Video tab: an animated version of the same card that counts up to your live download number, with your track playing underneath when the download is linked to a track version. The animation previews instantly in the dialog (with sound), and Export MP4 renders a social-ready video file you can post anywhere.
Collab interest
Let anyone with a share link raise their hand to work on the track. The team gets a chat message with the song and the note.
Public download page
One public link that lists an artist's whole released catalogue with a preview player and per-format downloads, replacing a shared Dropbox folder.
