File transfers

What it is

Transfers let you share files with anyone via a simple, expiring download link like WeTransfer, but built into Aden. Add files, optionally set a title, message, password and custom link, and share the result with people or with a connected team.

Using it

1. Go to Transfers → New Transfer for your team.
2. Add files two ways (you can mix both in one transfer):
   • Upload: drag & drop files onto the dropzone, or click to select them.
   • From a song: click Add files from a song, search for one of your songs, and pick it. Every file already stored for that song (each version's file plus any extra formats) is added instantly, with no re-upload.
3. Remove any file you don't want with the ✕ on its row.
4. Optionally set a title, a password, a custom link, and a message.
5. Optionally pick recipients under Add recipients: your team members and the people credited on your songs, or any email address you type in.
6. Click Create transfer. You can click it while files are still uploading: the transfer is sent the moment the last one lands. Copy the link or open it, and it stays live until it expires (the number of days depends on your plan).

Asking someone to send you files

Request files (on the transfers page, or Request files instead on the new-transfer page) makes a public upload link anyone can drop files into, no account needed. Open requests are listed among your transfers with a dashed card, so you can copy the link, show its QR code, stop it accepting files, or delete it without opening a dialog. Anything sent to a request arrives as a received transfer.

Send files you already have in Aden

On your team's Documents page, tick the files you want and hit the send icon in the selection toolbar. The create-transfer form opens with those files already attached: nothing is downloaded or re-uploaded. The folder you're browsing lives in the URL, so you can link someone straight to it.

Managing a transfer after you sent it

Click a transfer's title (or … → Manage transfer) to open its page. There you can:

• Edit the title, message, custom link and expiry date, and switch password protection on or off.
• Add people, or remove a recipient. Removing someone takes it out of their shared list, but the link itself keeps working, so set a password if you need to really lock it down.
• Browse every file: search the list, preview an image, video, audio file or PDF in a side sheet, tick files and download just those as a zip.
• Play the audio files: press play on a row and it goes into the player queue like any track, so it keeps playing while you move around Aden, and the player bar pauses, scrubs and skips it. The queue entry links back to the transfer.
• See who downloaded what and when.

Receiving a transfer

On a transfer link you opened:

• Search the file list, and tick individual files to download only those.
• Click the preview icon to open a file in a sheet and page through the rest.
• Press play on an audio file: it plays in the player bar at the bottom, so it keeps going while you scroll or open another page.
• If you're signed in, Import asks where the files should go, which team, and whether each file becomes a new track or a new version of an existing track.
