Track add-ons — collections, references, documents, analytics & inspiration
Sub-features that extend a track beyond its audio: grouping tracks into collections (playlists, albums, mixes), attaching reference tracks and external inspirations, uploading documents, recording play analytics, and moving a track between teams.
What it is
Every track in Aden is more than its audio file. A set of add-on features let you organise, document, and research a track without leaving its page:
- Collections — add the track to a playlist, album, or mix with one click.
- References — pin related tracks (from your own library or a URL) as inspiration or context — "this remix references that original".
- Documents — attach contracts, session notes, chord charts, or any file directly to the track or to a specific version.
- Inspiration — save a URL or upload a file that inspired this track, kept in a dedicated inspiration tab.
- Play analytics — see how many times the track (and each version) has been played and by whom.
- Move to team — send an invitation to transfer the track to another team's library.
Using it
Adding to a collection
On any track in the track list, open the context menu and choose Add to.... Pick a playlist, album, or mix from the sub-menu. The track appears in that collection immediately.
Adding a reference track
- Open a track and go to the Content or references panel.
- Choose an internal track from your library, or paste an external URL (YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, etc.).
- For external links, fill in optional fields like title, artist, and ISRC so the reference is searchable later.
- Remove a reference any time with the trash icon.
Attaching a document
- Open a track and go to the Files tab (or a version's file panel for version-scoped documents).
- Drag a file onto the upload zone or click Upload.
- Aden stores the file in R2 and records it in the
documentstable linked to this track (or version). - Rename, organise into folders, share via a timed link, or delete documents from the same panel.
Viewing play analytics
Open a track and click Analytics. You'll see total plays per version, when plays happened, and (if the play came from a share link) which share it originated from.
Moving a track to another team
On the track's settings or context menu, choose Move to team. Enter the target team's email address or slug. Aden sends a move-invitation email to the first member of that team. They accept it via the link in the email, and the track transfers.
