Contests
Gamified fan giveaways where entrants earn points by completing actions (follow on Spotify, save a track, share a link, etc.) — with a weighted random draw to pick winners at the end.
What it is
Contests let an artist or team run a fan giveaway directly from Aden. Fans visit a public entry page, complete a set of actions (follow the artist on Spotify, save the new album, follow on Instagram, share a link, and so on), and earn entries into a draw. The more actions a fan completes, the more chances they have to win.
Each contest is self-contained: you define the prize, the start and end dates, the branding (cover image, banner, accent colour), and the list of actions fans need to take. When the contest closes you can draw winners at the click of a button.
Using it
Creating a contest
- Go to Contests in your team sidebar and click New contest.
- Give it a title and a URL slug (this becomes the public link, e.g.
aden.space/contest/your-team/summer-giveaway). - Describe the prize in the Prize description field — markdown is supported.
- Set a status: leave it on Draft while you're configuring it, or set it to Active to open it to fans immediately.
- Optionally set start and end dates to automate the entry window.
- Optionally link the contest to a track, album, or playlist to tie it to a specific release.
Adding entry actions
Each action is one thing a fan can do to earn points:
- Set the action type (e.g. Spotify follow, Instagram follow, newsletter sign-up, share link, visit URL).
- Set the points value — fans earn this many entries per completion.
- Mark an action as Required if fans must complete it before they can enter at all.
- Mark an action as Repeatable if a fan can earn points more than once (e.g. share once per day). Set a daily cap if you want to limit how many times per day they can do it.
Actions are displayed on the public page in the order you define them.
Sharing the entry page
Once the contest is active, copy the public URL and share it anywhere — social posts, bio links, email newsletters. Fans don't need an Aden account; they just need an email address.
Drawing winners
When the contest ends (or at any time while it's active):
- Open the contest and click Draw winners.
- Enter how many winners you want (limited by the Max winners setting you configured).
- Aden runs a weighted random draw — fans with more points get proportionally more chances.
- Winners are marked in the entries list. The contest status flips to Ended.
