Goals, milestones & todos

What it is

Aden gives you three complementary planning tools that work at different levels of detail.

Goals are quantified targets — "release 2 tracks per month", "publish 8 Instagram reels this quarter". They count real activity automatically (tracks created, posts published, sessions held) and show progress without you doing anything. You can also track custom numbers manually by checking in a value at any time. Goals can belong to you personally, to your team, to an organisation, or to the Aden platform itself (admin).

Milestones are named project phases or deliverables attached to a specific track, album, or team — "vocal recording done", "artwork approved". Each milestone has a status, priority, optional dates, assignees, a budget, and its own comment thread. You can drag milestones between columns on a kanban board or view them on a Gantt chart.

Todos are individual tasks inside a milestone. They can be scoped to a specific track version, given a deadline, assigned to team members, and given a budget line. Checking a todo marks it complete; unchecking it reopens it. @mention a teammate in a todo to send them a notification.

Using it

Set a goal

1. Go to Goals in the personal sidebar or your team's goals page.
2. Click New goal. Type a plain-language description — e.g. "3 tracks finished every month" — and the AI will propose a structured goal for you to confirm.
3. Review the proposal (event type, target, period), adjust anything, then confirm.
4. The goal appears in your list with a live progress bar that updates as matching activity is recorded.

To pause a goal temporarily, open it and click Pause. Resume it when you're ready. Archive a goal when it's done or no longer relevant.

Apply a goal template

Rather than building from scratch, click Use template to pick from a curated set of goals for your scope (team, org, or personal). Templates expand into one or more goals at once.

Check in manually

For goals tracking things Aden can't count automatically (outreach calls, handwritten letters, external events), open the goal and click Check in to record a value with an optional note.

Create a milestone

1. Open a track, album, or go to your team's milestones board.
2. Click Add milestone, give it a name, status, optional dates, priority, and assignees.
3. You (the creator) are automatically added as a watcher and will receive updates when the milestone changes.

Drag milestones between columns to change status, or between rows to reorder within a column. The position is saved as a fractional index — reordering never rewrites every row.

Add a todo

Inside any milestone, click Add task and type the todo text. Optionally:

• Scope it to a specific track version.
• Set a deadline (it will appear in the calendar).
• Assign it to one or more team members.
• Add a budget amount and currency.
• @mention a teammate to notify them.

Convert a comment into a todo by clicking the overflow menu on any comment and selecting Create task.
