AI configuration & personalization
Bring-your-own API keys for premium AI models, per-team agent guidance, and AI-powered email personalization for outreach campaigns.
What it is
Aden's AI features let you choose how the AI assistant behaves for your team and optionally bring your own API keys from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Without any setup the assistant runs on included models at no extra cost. With your own keys, you can unlock more powerful models (like GPT-4o or Claude Sonnet) that are billed directly to your provider account — we never mark up the cost.
There is also an AI personalization tool for email campaigns: when you write an outreach email template, the AI rewrites it for each contact individually — adding their name, company, role, and engagement history — so every message feels personally written.
Using it
Setting up AI provider keys (BYOK)
- Go to your team settings → Chat setup (the "AI keys" tab).
- Select the provider you have an account with (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).
- Paste your API key. The key is stored securely; only a masked preview (
sk-ab••••xyz) is shown after saving. - Save. The key takes effect immediately for that provider's models in the AI chat.
To remove a key, open the same page and click the delete icon next to the provider.
Personalizing the agent
- Go to team settings → Agent personalization.
- Write guidance in the free-text field — for example: "We are an indie electronic duo from Berlin. Always reply in English. Use a casual tone."
- Save. The assistant uses this context in every conversation for that team.
You can also create and manage skills (custom instruction sets) that the agent can reference when handling specific tasks.
Using AI to personalize outreach emails
- Open a campaign in the emails section and compose your template.
- In the composer, open the AI personalize panel.
- Choose a tone (casual-friendly, professional-warm, cool-underground, or write your own).
- Click Personalize. The AI rewrites the subject and body for each recipient using their name, company, tags, location, and engagement history from your contacts list.
- Review the output — a confidence score (0–1) indicates how much recipient-specific detail was woven in.
- Send as normal; each contact receives their individually personalized version.
