Google Search Console

Connect a team's or organisation's Search Console property to Aden and read the searches, impressions, click-through rate and ranking positions behind their website traffic.

What it is

Aden's Website analytics tell you what happened after someone arrived. The Search tab tells you what happened before: the exact phrases people typed into Google, how often you were shown, how often you were clicked, and where you ranked.

Connect it once with the Google account that owns your Search Console property. Aden reads that data. It can't change anything in Search Console.

Using it

Connect

  1. Open Analytics → Search (an organisation finds the same panel on its Analytics page).
  2. Click Connect Search Console and sign in with the Google account that owns the property.
  3. If one of your verified Aden domains matches a property on that account, Aden selects it for you and you're done. Otherwise pick the property from the list.

Don't have a property yet? Add your domain in Search Console first. Google needs to verify it there before any data exists to read.

Read it

  • Clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position for the range picked in the analytics header (7 / 30 / 90 days), each with the change against the previous period of the same length.
  • Top searches: the queries people used, with clicks, impressions and your average position for each.
  • Top pages: which of your pages Google actually sends people to.

Google finalises a day's search data about two days late, so the range always ends two days ago. That's Google's lag, not a gap in Aden.

Change or disconnect

The bar above the metrics shows the selected property and the Google account it came from. Pick a different property from the dropdown at any time, or Disconnect to stop reading and delete the stored Google tokens. Your Search Console account keeps every metric either way.
