Plan the camp's schedule
Set the writing blocks, meals and breaks for every day, the rooms, and the days that run differently.
The Plan is when things happen at your camp. You build one day, Every day, and it repeats across the camp. Then you change the days that differ. Each writing block becomes a real session in every room, and writers see the same plan in their own week.
Build the day
- Open the camp. It opens on the Plan.
- Pick Every day in the strip of days.
- On an empty plan, choose Plan it myself for one writing session to build on, or Start from a sample day.
- Drag over the calendar to draw a block, or click Add to schedule. Type its name and press Enter.
- Pick its kind at the top of the block: writing, meal, break, programme, arrive or leave, listening, or other. Drag its edges to change the times.
Everything saves on its own. Switch between Day, Week and Month at the top.
Change one day
Pick a day in the strip and choose how it runs:
- Same as every day: it follows the template.
- Own schedule: it starts as a copy of the template that you change. Moving a block on that day does this for you.
- Day off: no sessions that day.
The same menu turns one weekday off across the whole camp, like every Saturday, and lets you add a short note such as "Arrival day".
Add prep days
Need a day to set up before the camp, or to wrap up after it? Click the small + before the first day or after the last one. A prep day only shows in your own plan. Writers, partners and the public page never see it, and it gets no sessions.
Set the rooms
A writing block makes one session per room per day, with the meals and breaks inside it, so the same people carry on after lunch. Add, rename or remove rooms on Sessions with Add room, or under Settings → Sessions.
Want new groups after lunch? On Sessions, use Split at Lunch on the room. Merge at Lunch joins it back.
Set the camp's Time zone under Settings → Sessions too.
Writing outside Aden
If your writers work in another app or a shared folder, open Settings → Sessions, set Where people write to Elsewhere and paste the link. The plan and the seating still work. Writers get a button to that link instead of an Aden session.
Fill every session at once
Session defaults, under Settings → Sessions, gives every writing session a video call, a goal, a brief, a playlist link and tags. Set them for every room, for one room, or for one day. Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom calls need that account connected first.
