Share your screen or take control

Share a sharp screen with its sound, draw on someone's screen, or drive their computer from yours.

Share your screen

Press the screen button in the call and pick what to share. Your screen's sound goes with it as studio audio. In the desktop app that's everything your computer plays, minus the call itself.

Under Devices, choose how it looks:

  • Sharp keeps text and plugin windows crisp, up to 4K.
  • Smooth is better for video and animation.

If your connection can't keep up, the call shows Slow connection with what is held back and how to fix it.

On a Mac, sharing your computer's sound needs macOS 14.2 or later. Allow Aden to record system audio the first time.

Draw on a screen

Press Draw above someone's shared screen. Everyone sees your marks in your own colour, and they fade a moment after you lift the pen. When the person shares from the desktop app, they see the drawing on their real screen. Press Escape to stop.

Point at a screen

Move your mouse over someone's shared screen and everyone sees your cursor there, with your name, in your colour. Any number of people can point at once, and nobody's mouse moves for it. When the person shares from the desktop app, they see the cursors on their real screen too.

Take control of a screen

When someone shares from the desktop app:

  1. Press Request control on their screen.
  2. Once they allow it, your mouse and keyboard drive their computer: mix, turn plugin knobs, type. Shortcuts carry over between Mac and Windows.
  3. Full screen gives you their whole view.

On an iPad or phone, tap to click, drag to move a fader, hold to right click and pinch to zoom.

While someone has control, the screen is framed in amber for everyone, and their name shows beside the real pointer. Sharing from the desktop app, the person sharing also gets the amber frame around their real screen, with who has control and the keys to stop it.

The person sharing sees who has control and takes it back with Stop control, or with ⌘⇧Esc (Ctrl+Alt+Esc on Windows). Moving their own mouse pauses yours. Shortcuts that could quit apps or reach past the screen never go through.

Open the same project

In the desktop app, the call shows the DAW project you have open and warns when someone is missing one of its plugins, so you can bounce those tracks first.
