Link a chat to your work
Tie a chat to a session, track or show, turn messages into to-dos and comments, and see what you've done with someone.
A chat can be about one thing: a studio session, a track, a milestone, a release or a show. Link it and what people write lands there in one click.
Link a chat
- Press the target button in the chat's header, or search "link this chat" in ⌘K.
- Pick the kind of thing and search for it.
- Its card is pinned at the top with the date, who's coming and open to-dos. Everyone in the chat sees a note.
The same button unlinks it.
Turn messages into work
Open a message's sparkle menu, or use the chip above the composer:
- A list of asks becomes to-dos, after you untick any you don't want.
- On a track, a message becomes a comment at the moment it names ("the kick at 1:32").
- On a session, "can we do Saturday 2pm?" moves it, links go on its inspiration board, and lyrics and voice notes go into the session.
Cards at the top of a chat
While you talk, small cards appear at the top: a track someone names, a day someone proposes, a list of asks, or the people on a track who aren't in the chat yet. Click one to open it in a small window beside the chat. You can turn these cards off in the desktop app's chat settings.
See what you've done together
Next to a one to one chat, a panel shows what you share with that person: organisations you're both in, sessions, tracks and releases they're credited on, playlists, what you sent them and your email threads. It works for people who aren't on Aden yet, through their contact. The layers button in the header shows or hides it.
In the desktop app, all of this works in your WhatsApp, Instagram and other connected chats too.
