Plan a dance or video shoot

Place each move or shot at its second of the song, so dancers and crew read one timeline, with tasks dated to the premiere.

Prep is where you plan a song's dance and its music video. Each move or shot sits at its moment in the song, between the synced lyrics, and anyone can play the song from any move. A prep comes with tasks (dancers, rehearsals, shoot day, edit) dated back from the premiere or the release date.

Plan it

  1. Open the track and go to Prep. You can also use Plan a choreo or Plan a video clip: on the Media tab's add video menu, on tasks, in ⌘K, or by ticking it in a release plan.
  2. Play the song. A new move's time follows the playhead: type the move and press Add. The clock sets an exact start and end.
  3. Under Who it's for, pick the dancers or crew a move is for. Nobody picked means everyone. Add people as track collaborators first, for example with the role Dancer.
  4. Use the version picker to choose which mix the prep is timed to. Its synced lyrics show between the moves; the pen button hides them.

Filter by person shows one dancer just their part.

After the shoot

On the Media tab, the planned video card shows the prep's next task and date. Press Add footage to upload or link the video, and it replaces the card.
