Move with your camera
Look round with your head, lean to walk, move your character's hands with yours and type in the air.
Your webcam can drive your character. The picture is read on your device and never leaves it; people around you only see your character move.
Switch it on
- In a world, press O to open Settings.
- Open Camera.
- Switch on what you want. Switching one on turns your camera on too. Allow the camera when your browser asks.
| Switch | What it does |
|---|---|
| Look with your head | Turn your head a little and the view turns a lot. Your eyes add a small nudge. |
| Lean to walk | Lean in to walk, sit back to stop, lean away to back up. Turn your head to steer. |
| Hands move your character | Hold your hands up: your character's arms and fingers follow yours. Everyone sees it. |
| Air keyboard | With the chat open, a keyboard hangs in front of you. Pinch a key to type it. |
Look with your head
- Sit as you normally do and look at the screen. That is straight ahead.
- Turn your head to look round. A still head keeps the view still.
- Moved your chair? Press N to make where your head is now straight ahead.
Too fast or too slow? Change Head look speed in the same section.
Walk by leaning
Lean clearly toward the screen and hold it for a moment to start walking. Talking, nodding and laughing don't move you. Your keys and the joystick always win while you use them.
Type in the air
- Press T to open the chat.
- Hold a hand up in front of your chest. The key under the spot between your thumb and index finger lights up.
- Pinch your thumb and index finger together to type that key. Open them to type the next one.
- Pinch Send to send, or Delete to take back a letter. Shift makes the next letter a capital.
Every switch has a command too: /headlook, /lean, /hands and /airkeys turn each one on or off, and /recentre sets straight ahead. ⌘K finds them all.
