Make a mashup
Fit acapellas to an instrumental in one key and tempo, cut and fade them, and save the mix to Aden with its stems.
Drop an instrumental and a few acapellas, and the Key finder pitches and speeds each one to fit.
Line up the songs
- Open the Key finder and drop an instrumental and one or more acapellas. You can also add songs by name or link.
- The instrumental becomes the anchor: its key is the target and its tempo is the mix tempo. Every other track shows how far it is pitched and sped.
- Check the chip beside the tempo: Great match, Good match or Hard match. Open it to see what each track needs.
- Press play to hear them together.
To fit everything to another track, open its … menu and choose Fit the others to this track.
Arrange the playlist
- Drag a clip by its top strip to move it. Its beats snap to the anchor's. Hold Alt to place it freely.
- Drag a clip's left or right edge to cut it, and drag a top corner inward to fade it.
- Each track has mute, solo and a level. Drag the grip before a name to reorder, and double click a name to rename it.
- Minus and plus beside play change the whole mix's tempo. Press a track's key and speed to set its own.
- Pinch, or hold Ctrl or ⌘ and scroll, to zoom.
- Full screen, hold Alt or ⌥ and scroll, or drag the ends of the scrollbar beside the tracks, to make them taller or slimmer.
Split a song into acapella and instrumental
Point at a track and press the layers button, Split into acapella and instrumental. It takes about a minute and adds both parts under the track.
Splitting needs an Aden account on the Max plan.
Change notes or record
- Edit notes (the tuning fork on a track) moves the notes of a sample, or turns minor into major. It works like the Note editor.
- Record adds a lane so you can sing over the mix.
Save the mix
Press Save to Aden under the playlist. Aden opens on a new track with the mix, in the target key and tempo, and each track as a stem. Songs you found by name or opened from Aden are linked as the originals, and their teams are asked to approve.
