Your musicMIDI and notes
Make a sampler from your samples
Turn a folder of samples, a Kontakt library's WAVs or an SFZ into a sound any MIDI on Aden can play.
A sampler plays MIDI on your own sounds. It stays in this browser, and nothing is uploaded.
Make one
- Open the sound picker next to any MIDI player and press Load a sample folder.
- Pick a folder: a sample library, a Kontakt library's Samples folder, an SFZ instrument, or a pack of one shots.
- Aden puts the samples on keys:
- An SFZ file in the folder says where each sample goes.
- A note in the file name, like "Piano_C3_mf.wav", puts it on that key. Keys in between play the nearest sample, pitched.
- A folder with no notes in its names, like drum hits, becomes a kit: one sample per key from C2 up.
- Press keys on the keyboard to hear it. Drop an audio file on a key to put it there, or pick a key to change or remove its sample.
- Name it and press Save.
Pitch between samples turns the in between keys on or off.
Change it later
Click the pencil next to the sampler in the sound picker. Delete in there removes it, with Undo.
What it can't read
Kontakt's own compressed samples and locked libraries can't be read in a browser. Use a library with WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 samples, or an SFZ. Samples over 8 seconds are cut to 8.
