How teams and organisations fit together

Understand the difference between you, your teams and organisations, and who pays for what.

Aden is built from a few pieces. Knowing them makes everything else easier.

  • You: your login and profile. You never hold a plan or own music directly.
  • A team: your workspace for an artist, band or project. Every track, album, session and contact lives in a team. Only teams have a plan.
  • An organisation: a label, publisher, agency, studio, collecting society or writers camp. It works with artist teams rather than holding its own tracks.
  • A session: a studio day or writing session that gathers people, from one team or many.

How you connect to an organisation

  • Through your team. Most artists. A label links to your team, by invite or after your team asks to join. They can help with your team's work, and you stay a member of your own team.
  • Directly. If you run the label, publisher or camp, you are a member of the organisation itself. Owners and admins also reach the teams it manages.

You can be both: running one organisation while another manages your artist team.

Many teams, one account

You can be in one team or many: your own project, a side project, a team your label set up. Switch between them from the switcher at the top of the sidebar.

Your default team

When you open something that needs a team and none is picked, Aden opens your default team. Your first team is the default to start with. To change it, open that team's settings and use Default team at the top. A star marks your default in the switcher.

Who pays

There are no personal plans. A team's plan unlocks paid features, and it can be paid by you, granted by Aden, or covered by your organisation. You can create up to two free teams.
