Record a DJ set
Plug your mixer into your computer or phone, record your set safely and save it as a mix with its tracklist.
Your recording is saved on your device as it happens, so a crash, a closed app or a flat battery never costs you the set.
Record on the desktop app
- Plug your mixer in with USB.
- Open DJ and press Record set. Aden picks your mixer when it can see one; choose another input from the menu beside the button.
- Watch the time and level. Clipping shows when the signal hits the top.
- Press Stop when you're done.
You can also type "record" in ⌘K. If the cable comes out, the recording carries on in the same file when the mixer is back, so tracklist times still line up. If Aden crashes mid set, it picks the recording up again on its own. Your computer won't sleep while recording.
Listen back
Each recording shows as a lane with its waveform. Press play, or click the waveform to listen from that point. Click a name to rename it.
Save it as a mix
- Press Save to Aden on a recording.
- Check the title and the tracklist. On the desktop it is filled in from what rekordbox, Traktor or Virtual DJ logged while you played. Leave out anything that doesn't belong, and click a cue time to hear that moment.
- Save.
It uploads as a private mix in your team, with each track cued where it started. Your own tracks link to their pages.
Record on your phone
Open Record mix, plug the mixer in with USB and press record. The screen shows which input it is using, and warns you if it is your phone's own microphone. Recordings stay on your phone until you upload them.
Where the files are
On the desktop, in your Music folder under Aden, Set recordings, as WAV files. iPhone records WAV too; Android records AAC.
