Check and export a release
Find what a store would reject before you send it, then download everything your distributor's form asks for.
What gets checked
Before a release leaves Aden, the files you actually uploaded are checked, not just the details you typed.
- Master: stores need a lossless WAV or FLAC at 44.1 kHz or higher, 16 bit minimum. 24 bit is recommended.
- Cover art: aim for 3000 × 3000 pixels, perfectly square, RGB, with no transparency.
- Details: ISRC, UPC, release date, genre, primary artist, and composition and master splits that each add up to 100%.
The primary artist is the Primary column on the track's collaborators. It's the artist name stores show.
Anything a store would reject shows as an error to fix. Anything that only hurts quality, like a mono master or smaller artwork, is a warning you can go past. Requirements differ per store, so you can check against the stores you're targeting.
Export for your distributor
On the track's Release page, or in its actions menu, press Export for distributor. You download:
- the master and the cover,
- a DDEX file, for distributors that import it,
- a spreadsheet with the fields upload forms ask for,
- a short guide.
The export only downloads once the checks pass.
Hand it over from ChatGPT or Claude
With Aden connected to ChatGPT or Claude, ask it to put out a single, EP or album through your distributor, like "Upload Donuts to DistroKid". It reads everything the form needs from Aden (titles, artists, credits and splits, codes, release date, genre, language, explicit, label, the ℗ and © lines), plus the masters and cover, and fills in the distributor's form for you.
You sign in to the distributor yourself; Aden never sees that password. If something is missing, like an ISRC or splits that don't add up, it tells you what to fix in Aden first.
