# Write and sync lyrics
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/your-music/versions/lyrics

Keep lyrics per version, time each line to the audio, or let Aden transcribe them from the vocals.
Every version has its own lyrics. Timed lines light up while the version plays, on the track and on share links, and clicking a line plays from there.

## Write them [#write-them]

1. Open the version's **Lyrics** tab.
2. Type or paste the words. Start a line with @name to mark who sings it.

Paste lyrics in and they sync to the audio by themselves. Language and the explicit switch appear once there are lyrics.

## Add the timing [#add-the-timing]

In the version's **…** menu, choose **Sync lyrics to audio**. Your words stay as they are; Aden finds them in the vocals and puts a time in front of each line, like \[01:12]. Run it again after you change the lyrics or the audio.

To fix one time, edit the time at the start of the line, or click the waveform while writing to insert the current time.

## Transcribe from the audio [#transcribe-from-the-audio]

In the version's **…** menu, choose **Analyze lyrics from audio**. Aden writes timed lyrics from the vocals. It asks first if there are lyrics to replace.

Syncing or transcribing fills in the language when none is set, and marks the version explicit when the words are.

## Download an LRC file [#download-an-lrc-file]

Pick **Download LRC** in the version's **…** menu, or type "lrc" in ⌘K. Players and lyrics services read LRC files. Lyrics without times ask you to sync them first.

## In your audio files [#in-your-audio-files]

The desktop app writes the lyrics into the copies it saves on your computer, so Apple Music, rekordbox, Serato and your DAW show the words.
