# Create a track from a link
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/your-music/tracks/create-from-a-link

Start a track from the link it already lives on, without uploading a master first.
Unreleased songs often already sit on SoundCloud, Dropbox or Drive. Paste that link and the track exists in Aden, with its page, status, credits and plans. Upload the master whenever it's ready.

## Paste a link [#paste-a-link]

1. Click **New track**.
2. Paste the link under the audio box. A badge names the service and a preview player appears, so you can check it's the right song.
3. Fill in the title and anything else, then click **Create track**.
4. On the track page, the player from that service sits at the top, with a place to add the real file underneath.

These play right on the track page: SoundCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Mixcloud and Suno. Anything else, such as Bandcamp, becomes a button that opens it.

<Callout>
  A track made from a link has no versions or waveform until you upload a file, so the play button on the board stays empty.
</Callout>

## Move a smart link over [#move-a-smart-link-over]

Paste a smart link from Feature.fm, Linkfire, Hypeddit, Songlink or ToneDen, and Aden reads the title, artwork and store links. A release that's out lands as released and public, with every store link on your public page. Only empty fields are filled, so anything you typed first stays.

## SoundCloud sets and Dropbox folders [#soundcloud-sets-and-dropbox-folders]

Paste a SoundCloud set, private links included, or a shared Dropbox folder. Aden asks whether to make one track with several versions, or one track per file. SoundCloud audio keeps playing from SoundCloud; Dropbox files are copied into Aden as real versions. You need your SoundCloud or Dropbox account connected, and the form offers to connect it.

## Change the link later [#change-the-link-later]

Change or remove the link in the track's settings. You can also paste a link into ⌘K and pick the import option to open this form with the link filled in.
