# Sync your sample folders
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/your-music/sample-libraries/sync-samples

Point the desktop app at a sample folder to index it, back it up to the cloud and share it with your team.
On the Max plan. Below it, the desktop **Samples** tab shows an upgrade button.

## Add a folder [#add-a-folder]

1. Open the desktop app and go to **Samples**.
2. Click **Add folder** and pick a folder: your Splice downloads, FL Studio packs, or any folder of samples.
3. Aden tells you what it holds, like "48,213 samples, 214 GB". Confirm.

Aden reads names, sizes and folder tags, and tempo and key from the file names. Nothing is uploaded, and you can keep working while it runs. From then on the folder stays in sync: drop in a new pack and it's added.

Until you upload it, the folder stays on this computer. You can browse it in the desktop app, but not on the web, on your phone, or on a bandmate's computer.

## Back it up to the cloud [#back-it-up-to-the-cloud]

1. Open the library's **…** menu and tick **Upload to cloud**.
2. Aden shows how much will be uploaded and how much team storage is left.
3. Confirm.

Only samples your team doesn't already have are uploaded. If a bandmate already synced the same pack, it costs nothing extra, so a folder bigger than your free space may still fit. Cloud upload stops at 50,000 samples per library and at your team's storage limit: split a bigger folder into smaller ones, or keep it on this computer.

## Share it [#share-it]

A new library is private. Click **Share** on its row to let your team browse it.

## Stop syncing [#stop-syncing]

Click the bin icon on the library. That deletes the cloud copy and stops syncing. Leave the box unticked to keep the files on your disk, or tick it to move the folder to your Trash, where Put Back still undoes it.
