# Requesting extra members

Non-admin organisation members can ask their owners and admins to add extra members. The request is delivered by email, it never changes membership.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Adding people to an organisation is an owner/admin action. If you're a member
without that permission, you can't add anyone yourself, but you can ask. On
your organisation's Members page there's a **Request members** button that lets
you tell the owners and admins who you need added and why. They get an email
with your request and can add the members from there.

## Using it [#using-it]

1. Open your organisation and go to **Members**.
2. Click **Request members** (this appears when you're a member but not an
   owner or admin).
3. Optionally say how many members you need, then describe who you'd like added
   and why: include their name and email so the admins can find them.
4. Click **Send request**. Your organisation's owners and admins are emailed,
   with you set as the reply-to, so they can follow up with you directly.

Nothing is added automatically. An owner or admin still makes the final call.
