# Connect a mailbox
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/work-together/mail/connect-a-mailbox

Connect Gmail or Outlook to your account, a team or an organisation, choose who reads it, and send from your own address.
A connected mailbox lets Aden read and send real email as you.

## Connect one [#connect-one]

Connect Gmail or Outlook from one of these places:

* **Your account's inboxes**: only you read it.
* **Your team's email settings**: everyone who can open the team's records reads it.
* **Your organisation's Inboxes settings**: everyone in the organisation reads it.

The same address can be connected in more than one place. Each connection keeps its own conversations and readers, and every row says which kind it is.

<Callout>
  An inbox connected a while ago may need connecting again before Aden can send from it or save drafts. Aden tells you when.

## Send from another address [#send-from-another-address]

A Gmail mailbox can send from any address you've verified in Gmail's "Send mail as" settings. Pick it from the address button on the mailbox's row. Only verified addresses can be picked, because Gmail would quietly send from your main address otherwise.

## Your team's Aden address [#your-teams-aden-address]

Every team has its own Aden email address, with nothing to connect. Once it receives its first email, it shows beside your Gmail and Outlook. Replies go out as the team, and answers come back to the same thread.

## On your phone and desktop [#on-your-phone-and-desktop]

* In the Aden phone app, your mailboxes show in the Chat tab mixed in with your chats. Reply from the line under a thread; **Preview** shows the email before you send it.
* In the desktop app, they show in the Inbox beside your chats.
