# Jot ideas in quick notes
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/work-together/goals/quick-notes

Write in one running note for you and one per team, and turn lines into to-dos, sessions or lyrics.
Quick notes is a scratchpad: one running note for you, and one shared note for each team. Jot now, act later.

## Write [#write]

1. Open **Quick notes** from ⌘K or the widget on your dashboard.
2. Switch between your note and a team's with the picker beside the title.
3. Write. Use lists, checklists, headings, bold and italic, with the usual shortcuts.

## Turn notes into work [#turn-notes-into-work]

As you write, small cards appear above the note:

* A list becomes to-dos or milestones.
* A day you mention ("Friday at 3") becomes a session or a show.
* A track you name opens its page.
* Lyric lines under a track's name can go on that track as lyrics.

Select some words and choose **Create** for the same options on just those words, or **Something else…** to describe what you want.

## Ask Jev about your note [#ask-jev-about-your-note]

On the Quick notes page, the sparkle button opens Jev beside your note. Ask about it, or say what to change ("tidy this into a checklist"). **Undo** puts it back.

## On desktop and phone [#on-desktop-and-phone]

* In the desktop app, pin Quick notes to the rail. ⌘K and the launcher find any paragraph by its words.
* On a Mac, the desktop app can show your Apple Notes in search. Add one to your quick notes from its menu.
* In the phone app, open **Notes** from Home or search.
