# Keep a list of your gear

List the instruments and equipment you own, so you can bring the right pieces to a session.
Your gear list is personal. It belongs to you, not to a team, and only you edit it.

## Add your gear [#add-your-gear]

1. Open **Account** and go to **Gear**.
2. Type a name, like "U87", and press Enter. Aden picks the category, so a U87 becomes a microphone.
3. Click the icon in front of an item to change its category, or to add a brand and notes.
4. Save.

On the desktop app, drop the apps you use on the drop shelf to add them as software.

## Bring it to a session [#bring-it-to-a-session]

When you join a session, your list shows in the participants panel. Pick the pieces you are bringing, and the session records them.

Aden's chat reads your list too, so its answers fit the tools you own.
