## What it is [#what-it-is]

While Aden is in beta, everyone joining it signs the same beta agreement once
whether you arrive as an organisation or as a single artist team. It
covers free beta access during the beta period, what Aden provides (setup,
training, founder support), what your team provides (real usage, feedback,
review calls), who owns what, and how the beta runs from kickoff to launch.

On ownership it says two things. Your music stays yours: Aden never owns what
you upload, it only gets the licence it needs to host, stream and process it
for you. Aden's software stays Aden's: the web, desktop and mobile apps, their
design, workflows and code are Aden's intellectual property. By signing you
agree not to copy the apps or their code and not to take them apart to rebuild
them, and not to share what you see in the beta (demos, calls, unreleased
features, the roadmap) outside your team or use it to build a competing
product, during the beta and for 12 months after. It does not stop you building
your own tool independently, and it does not restrict where you work: the
protection covers Aden's code and its confidential information, not the idea of
a workspace for music teams. The EU rights to decompile for interoperability
and to study how software works are carved out, because they cannot be signed
away.

You don't get it as an email attachment: the agreement is generated inside Aden,
signed inside Aden, and the signed copy is stored on your organisation, so
anyone on the team can find it later.

## Using it [#using-it]

1. Open your organisation's **Settings → General**. The **Beta agreement** card
   shows whether it has been signed.
2. **Read the agreement** opens the terms in a side panel, without leaving the
   page (with an "open in a new tab" escape hatch for downloading or printing).
3. An owner or admin clicks **Review & sign** and lands on the normal Aden
   signing page: read the document, type or draw a signature, submit.
4. Once signed, the card switches to **Signed** and **View the signed copy**
   opens the agreement with the signature certificate appended.

Your signature is saved to your own profile. See it under Account → Signed
documents. Aden reuses it whenever you sign something else, so you never draw
it twice. If you signed the agreement in the enquiry form before you had an
account, it moves onto your profile as soon as you sign up.

Only owners and admins can sign on the organisation's behalf. Everyone else can
still read the agreement. The sign button explains why it's unavailable.

Applying through the organisation enquiry form? You sign the same agreement
there: draw your signature and tick one box. It's signed in the name of the
representative you entered at the top of the form.

Joining without an organisation? You sign it during signup. After the Terms of
Service step, the **Beta agreement** step shows the headline terms (free beta
access, what each side provides, what happens at the end), links to the full
document, and asks for the signatory's name plus a drawn signature. It is the
last step before your account is created, so it's clear you are joining the free
beta, and the signed agreement shows up under Account → Signed documents.

That one signature covers both beta documents. **Read the Letter of Intent** on
the same step opens the current letter in a side panel, and signing files your
acceptance of it too, so the beta dashboard already shows it as signed instead
of asking you to draw the same signature a second time. You can revoke the
Letter of Intent any time from the beta dashboard.
