# Write and publish a post

Write a post, choose where it goes, and publish it now or schedule it for later.
## Write it [#write-it]

1. Open **Posts** in your team and click **New post**.
2. Give it a title and write your caption.
3. Add media: a cover image, photos or video, or a YouTube link. Add a link to what you're promoting if you like.
4. Link it to a track, album, tour, event or mix.

## Choose where it goes [#choose-where-it-goes]

The **Publish to** row under the preview shows the accounts this post goes to. Click **Change** to tick accounts, connect a new one, or mark platforms you'll post to by hand.

Each account checks its version while you type: a caption too long for X, a TikTok without media, a Pinterest account without a board. The problem shows under that account, and publishing stays off until it's fixed.

## Publish or schedule [#publish-or-schedule]

* Press **Publish now** to post straight away.
* Or pick a date and time to schedule it. You can cancel or reschedule until then.

Published posts also appear on your public profile, each with its own page.

## Sponsored posts [#sponsored-posts]

A post paid for by a label or brand stays a draft until you send it to the sponsor. Once they approve it, you can publish.

## Work through your queue [#work-through-your-queue]

* Right click a post, or use **…** on its row, to open it, copy its link or delete it.
* A post planned as a Reel, Story, Carousel or other visual format with no media yet is marked **Needs asset**. Filter on it to shoot everything that's missing in one go.
