# Keep a timeline with each contact
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/promote/contacts/keep-a-timeline

Log calls, meetings and follow-ups beside the real email threads, so you know what happened with anyone.
Every contact, team and organisation has one timeline: the notes you wrote, the calls you had, the follow-ups you owe, and the email threads with them, newest first.

## Log something [#log-something]

1. Open the contact and type in the box at the top of the timeline.
2. Pick the kind if it isn't a plain note: note, meeting, call or follow-up.
3. Change the date if it happened earlier. The date button offers Now, Today, Tomorrow and Next week.
4. Press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows) to save.

## Chase something later [#chase-something-later]

Choose follow-up and set a due date. It stays open on the timeline until you tick it off, and overdue ones are flagged. **Follow-ups** on your leads page lists every open follow-up across all your records.

## Keep the important thing on top [#keep-the-important-thing-on-top]

Use **⋯** on any note to pin it above the timeline. Use it for the "read this before you call them" note.

## See the emails [#see-the-emails]

With a mailbox connected, your threads with this person sit in the same timeline. Open one to read it or reply from the page. The envelope under the note box starts a new email that attaches itself. To bring in an older conversation, open the mailbox button and press **Find earlier emails**.

No mailbox yet? One click searches Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or Proton for the person's address.

## Book the next call [#book-the-next-call]

**Schedule meeting** writes the event to your connected Google or Outlook calendar, sends the invite with a video link, and logs the meeting on the timeline.

## Find your way in a long history [#find-your-way-in-a-long-history]

Search the timeline, filter by kind or open follow-ups, and use Display to set the order and density. **⋯** on an entry copies a link straight to it.
